Brothers,
This second semester has begun and events are
churning ahead quickly. I am so excited about serving Delta Lambda
as Chapter President and I promise that I will work to the best
of my abilities to make it a great year. Congratulations to all
of the Brothers who got elected as officers for this upcoming
year. I look forward to working closely with the Executive Board,
featured below, and also with all the Brothers in the Fraternity.
After the New Year and our return to campus, we
are looking forward to a great spring semester. I want the theme
of next year to be "Momentum." We have just finished
a great fall semester and we have gained speed. We need each and
every Brother to help keep the focus on the momentum. Focus is
what will keep us moving forward with a powerful, nearly unstoppable
force. Focus on the Fraternity's success, and with that power
we will make it happen.
Keep a look out for upcoming events in the spring.
Dad's Weekend is just around the corner; coming up this month.
Right now we are diligently working on reclaiming our victory
for Dance Marathon, Florida State's largest philanthropy. If you
would like to donate, please visit the website: Dance
Marathon/Pike
I want to congratulate new Rush Chairman Julian
Garcia '06 and his Rush Captains for their fantastic job in
spring rush. We took 19 new Pikes and the class is widely thought
to be the best on campus. Our fall class was initiated on December
2, 2007, and the 46 new Brothers included Delta Lambda's 2,000th
initiate.
Intramural sports continue to be a chapter strength.
As of the last update on February 11, the Pikes are almost 150
points ahead of the next closest fraternity. And we continue to
have more varsity and club athletes than all the other fraternities
combined.
Brother Joe O'Shea '04 was named a
Rhodes Scholar! Joe is currently serving FSU as Student
Body President. Joe was president of his pledge class. His younger
brother Jesse O'Shea '07 was president of the fall pledge
class, and was selected by the Chapter to receive the honor of
being our 2,000th initiate.
With our momentum and the promise of even more
success, I have no doubt that we will continue the Legacy our
Delta Lambda alumni have left for us.

at FSU Student Boosters and president of the FSU Pre-Law Society.
Carlos is excited to put his leadership and management skills
to use as president.

be more perfect for the job. Jamie is an Accounting and Finance

already started his new position by working hard to make the recent
2008 Spring Rush a success.
